Downfall 119

Source was sitting at the dinner table. Everything was normal as ever, and everyone was going about their day. Yami was in her room reciting dark spells, Miyu was gaming, Sora was texting boys, and Akarui was being herself.

"Would you like some water, sweetie?" Monika asked kindly. Her voice alone was enough to contest even Athena.

"I'm good." Source replied. He wasn't really feeling himself lately. He had a horrible vision the other day, and couldn't get over what he had seen.

Monika walked over to him and put her hand on his shoulder, and her other on his chest.

"Hey…" Monika said solemnly. She leaned down and looked directly into his eyes. "Is everything okay?"

Source sighed. He told her about the vision he had. Every last detail he could remember.

"W-Wow…" Monika replied, shocked. "That's a horrible thing to see."

Monika sighed and started massaging Source's shoulders.

"I can't stand the thought of losing you. Never ever." Monika confessed. She glanced at the clock, and gave Source a kiss on the head. "I love you."

"Hey, should we send the kids to bed?" Source replied. He had glanced at the clock too.

He glanced back once more, just to see what time it was again.

11:29 PM

"You're right." Monika said. "KIDS, TIME FOR BED!"

The four teenagers groaned as they came downstairs to get ready for bed.

Monika and Source themselves headed up for bed.

"It's probably nothing, Sourcie." Monika consoled as he layed down on her warm, comfortable chest. He'd slept there when he was a baby. "It was probably just a nightmare."

"But…" Source replied. "It-It felt so real! So… horrifying."

Monika thought to herself for a minute.

"Why don't we try going back to sleep?" Monika suggested and she pulled the covers up over her and Source.

Source sighed. "Okay. I'll try."

Monika giggled and whispered into his ear.

"I love you."

Source glanced at the clock once again, and began to drift off to sleep…

12:32 AM

Source awoke on a continuous white plane. The white seemed to glow in contrast to the infinite, black sky.

"HELLO SOURCE", a being seemed to call out.

Source readied his battle eyes and charged up an attack.

"W-What the hell?! Who's there?!" He yelled.

"YOU CANNOT KILL ME", the being responded.
"YOU CANNOT DO ANYTHING HERE"

"Sh-Show yourself!" Source screamed.

"…"

"…N-NOW!"

"YOU WILL WAKE UP AND NEVER RETURN", the being responded.

"I-I'M NOT AFRAID TO USE MY POWERS!" Source replied.

"I CURSE THYNE REALITY", the being spoke.

"NOW BEGONE."

Source awoke in his bed, as always.

"Good morning, Mon-Mon…" Source said, as he'd say everyday. She'd always giggle in response, and hug him back.

This morning, she didn't do anything.

Source looked at the clock to make sure he didn't wake up early.

ERR:ERR

"Huh." Source replied. "I should probably fix that later."

"Moni, wake up." Source shook her. She was limp.

Source's eyes widened. He shook harder. "Monika…"

No response.

"Monika, c-come on, this isn't funny! WAKE UP!"

He turned her over and looked into her eyes. Her skin was pale, her eyes were lifeless, and her body was cold.

Source wanted to cry, but nothing would come out. Only shock remained.

"Archamiedies… M-Maybe Arch can ressurect her!"

Source took his cellphone from his bedside cabinet and called Archamidies' phone number.

No response.

Source listened for any animals outside.

Nothing.

Source stormed out of the bedroom, and went downstairs to where the kids would usually be. He rushed to the living room, and stared in utter shock at what he saw.

Four lifeless bodies.

"H-Holy… f-fuck…" Source whispered to himself. His arms were violently shaking. "D-Did…" Source whispered to himself. "Did B-Blitzz… o-or Somnus… do… this…?"

Source called all the numbers on his phone, including Blitzz and Somnus.

No response.

"Gen…! Maybe… Maybe Gen! Hahahah, yeah! Gen's GOTTA be alive! Hahaha!" Source laughed maniacally as he opened a portal to the shadow hell.

"GEN!" Source screamed into the portal. His voice echoed back.

Nothing. Only Gen's corpse.

"…" Source stared in shock. He only had one hope.

Source silently opened a portal to the void.

"…C-cinders…?" Source whimpered.

Only Cinders' dead body floated by.

Source closed both portals, and walked outside.

Dead grass. Dead trees. Dead birds on the ground. Only the wind answered to it's call.

"Holy shit." Source thought to himself. "Everything's fucking dead."

Source collapsed onto the dead grass that covered the ground, crying and sobbing.

"No." Source said to himself. "I can't give up. I need to contact another dimension somehow."

Source teleported himself to the nearest SCP Foundation site. Dead guards were everywhere. He then remembered that this is the Site that contained SCP-173, SCP-096 and SCP-682.

"SCP-173 is a statue, right?" Source thought to himself. "It can't be dead!"

He rushed to SCP-173's containment cell.

Nothing but a pile of concrete dust remained.

He rushed to SCP-096's containment cell.

Dead.

He rushed to SCP-682's containment cell.

SCP-682 was dead.

It was at this moment Source realized.

Life, or anything resembling life…

…Is dead.

Hours after roaming the town he lived in to no avail, Source remembered that he had a pistol under his and Monika's bed.

Source teleported himself home, ran upstairs and frantically searched under their bed. He found the pistol and some ammonite ammo to boot.

Source stood at one end of the bedroom, far away from Monika's body. The last thing he looked at was a photo of him and Monika together.

"Can't believe it ends like this." Source thought to himself, tens of tears rolling down his face. "Everyone else is fucking dead, what's one more?"

He opened his mouth, put the pistol inside, and…
